Karina and Leo’s wedding at Matheson Hammock Park in Miami was the first wedding of 2017 and based on their memorable day, I think it’s going to be an exciting year!
Karina and Leo’s love story began with texting and phone conversations for a few months before finally leading up to their first date at the mall where Leo worked at the time. Karina brought some friends along for backup but didn’t end up needing them as she and Leo stayed up chatting late into the night. Fast forward 10 years and Leo found himself down on one knee surrounded by their closest friends proposing to the girl who as he says “loves me for me.”
I like to refer to Karina and Leo as the Chip and Joanna Gaines of Miami, because when I walked into their home for the wedding prep portion of their day, their house was beautifully decorated and filled with furniture that they had either made or re-purposed. Absolutely amazing!
After getting ready at their home we transported over to Matheson Hammock park where Leo and Karina had their first look and proceeded into photos with each other and their bridal party before the ceremony. A beautiful sunshiney morning took a turn right before the processional and dark clouds started to roll in as the wedding party made their way down the aisle to gather beneath the trees. Moments after Karina’s father gave her away, however, raindrops began to fall. Guests scurried their way to seek shelter under the pavilion where the ceremony recommenced. In spite of the minor hiccup, the officiant, didn’t miss a beat and proceeded to lead Karina and Leo through a beautiful heart touching, joy filled ceremony. All in all, it was truly a lovely day and even the threat of rain couldn’t put a damper on it!
Karina your smile and laughter is infectious. And Leo I love how much you make her smile. I know it sounds cliché but it’s so evident you two are perfect for each other. I am so beyond happy that I got to document the beginning of your next big adventure. Thank you so so much for allowing me to play a role in your happily ever after. Cheers to many more decades of love and happiness!
PS: I still want you to decorate and furnish my home. Kthanksbye. =)
