Daniela and Casey

Their story according to Daniela: “Our “how we met” story isn’t all that exciting, but definitely came down to fate. Casey’s friend Ryan and I worked out at the same gym 6 months prior to Casey and I initially meeting. One day, I posted a photo with my nephew on SnapChat, and Ryan said, “hey, are you dating anyone? I have a friend for you”.  My response was, “yea, I guess, and I don’t know about that”, to which he replied, “what do you have to lose?”. The reason I say this is fate is because, against my usual and better judgment, I said, “you’re right, what the heck”. After that he gave Casey my number, Casey took an entire day to work up the courage to text me, “Hey, how are you?. I replied 2 hours later, “Hi, great! How are you? Nice to meet you.”. We made plans to meet a few days later, and we’ve been together ever since.”

“I feel incredibly blessed, but he worked behind the scenes with one of my best friends to coordinate a surprise proposal. This is no small feat because I am a planner through and through, so they both agreed that the only way to surprise me, would be to have my friend Karima plant the seed in my head of throwing Casey a surprise birthday party. So, Karima and I were working on a low key surprise bday dinner for Casey. My plan was to pick Casey up from his house for dinner so we could drive to Ft. Lauderdale and meet our parents for a crab dinner – at the original Rustic Inn – and the surprise would be that I had secretly invited all of his close friends to be waiting at the restaurant to surprise him. Well, little did I know that I would get the biggest surprise of my life! I pulled up to his house, opened the door, and I knew at that moment this was the moment I’d dreamt of my entire life. It was perfect and 100% worth the wait. He was standing there in a blazer, our parents were standing at the back of the room, and our siblings, nieces and nephews, and his (now our) dog Bear was dressed in a tux. I was a mess and cried immediately, to which everyone else began to tear up and as tradition would have it, he said that kindest words, got down on one knee and proposed. I really did have all the feels they talk about – which I was HIGHLY skeptical actually existed. It was perfect and I couldn’t have planned it better myself. We eventually made it to dinner to which my “friend surprise” paled in comparison to the surprise he had just given me.”
