Elegant Seaside Wedding in Palm Beach Florida

Featured on Carats and Cake
From the Bride, Mary: I am a blue and white girl through and through. It has always been my favorite color combo so I knew that is where I would start for our wedding. From there, I wanted to create this romantic and beachy vibe. I really based the whole style of the wedding on the print, we used on the envelope liner (It is a specific Pierre Frey print). I like low flower arrangements. I loved the combo of our blue and whites with the bamboo chairs and chargers. My mom, sister, and sister-in-law helped me create my vision for the wedding and I am forever grateful.
Spencer had a super close bond with his Great-grandfather who was a member of the Ocean Club in Palm Beach. Spencer and his family grew up going to the Ocean Club and he has so many fond memories there. I first met Spencer’s family in Florida at the Ocean Club. I saw the Ocean Club exactly for what it was the first time I went there- a little slice of heaven. When Spencer and I got engaged, I knew I didn’t want a DC wedding. I KNEW in my heart that the Ocean Club would make the most perfect backdrop for our wedding and really represent Spencer and I’s styles. We are both beach people. I always knew it was my dream to get married on the beach. I absolutely love palm trees and I love how they perfectly bordered the reception tent.
As people were starting to arrive for the ceremony, a classic south Florida rainstorm started rolling in. I was in the club hiding from everyone while Spencer was under the reception tent. He and some of the guests that had already arrived said a prayer with our bishop who was performing the ceremony. Before we knew it, the dark skies started to clear and we were able to start the ceremony on time. During the ceremony, the clouds were still very dramatic with the sun shining through. It was so beautiful!  And then after I finally got to marry my best friend, there was a rainbow that lasted all through cocktail hour. It made for some pretty incredible photos. I truly believe our people were watching over Spencer and me, smiling.
It truly was the best day ever. Spencer and I had been engaged for about 14 months. I had been planning this wedding for what felt like forever. I am a very visual person so it was torture waiting to see everything. It was so special seeing it all come together. It was exactly what I dreamed it would be. Our first dance was also really special. It is a very special song for Spencer and me and we were both very emotional. But emotional in a way that we were both so happy we were married. I think a sign that everyone had fun, were the many unbuttoned dress shirts and hair in ponytails by the end of the night.
